![]() The question of support is probably that this community is intended for support of production releases of software running on production versions of macOS or Windows, and that reports regarding anything beta are supposed to go through other channels. The Apple beta program works the same way, if you have signed up for a beta through Apple then Apple has provided you with the Feedback Assistant app to report any problems with any applications, and those are collated and sent on to the developers. I can’t speak for Adobe because I don’t work there, but I think the way this is supposed to work is like when you see the Apple Crash Reporter for any application: You send the report to Apple, and Apple forwards it to the developer. It is a moving target and most developers will hold off on final verification until the final public release of an OS. If other applications are working with such an early build of Sonoma, that’s one thing, but probably no developer is going to guarantee or go to any extra effort to ensure compatibility with an operating system version that is so long from being finalized. I'm giving Adobe 7 days to update Lightroom Classic to work with Sonoma or I'm cancelling my account. I just tried another competitor to Lightroom Classic and it works perfectly fine with Sonoma Beta plus it's cheaper per month. ![]() I hope I'm wrong and everything I'm saying is null for the sake of the community. Something about the underbelly of this application and some degree of non optimized cross-architecture code is something that might need to be addressed in the near future. As haphazard as betas can and are innately going to be, LrC somehow tends to have issues year after year. I'll be downgrading to Ventura once my smart previews file is backed up. I'm doing a backup of some files, not a ton since a lot of my stuff lives externally and in cloud storage. I don't have the heart to close the application because all signs points to it not opening again once closed and as much as I love tinkering and finding bugs, this (self-administered) headache is losing its appeal pretty quickly.Įdit: Crashed about 45 minutes after my last edit. Now, I have a full spec M2 Max MBP and I will always disable GPU accel because navigation actually suffers with it enabled. Uninstalled Photoshop Beta and Photoshop from machine, LrC (12.4) now opens usual catalog wihout issue or hesitation. Will test loading main catalog without preview files in directory then try importing from main catalog to new catalog. ![]() Trying to open previous/main catalog crashes immediately. LrC is a great way to keep busy.įresh install opens fine with new catalog. I'm currently purging Library cache and will test again then liekly re-image the machine to continue testing. It's necessary to state this behavior is expected with beta software, however, LrC is the only applicaiton that exhibits this behavior. It ran a few times then crashed once again. Yes, after updated to the second build of the Sonoma Dev beta, LrC crashes instantly, as do all 12.x versions, EXCEPT for 12.0.1.
